Workzil is the AI-first hiring platform — a hosted, Ashby-style career page on every company, a Chrome extension that submits with your profile in one click, and conversational job descriptions you can chat or talk to.
We're looking for a Founding Frontend Engineer to own the candidate-facing surfaces end-to-end: the public board, the apply flow, the Chrome extension UI, and the AI agent UX. You'll partner closely with the founding team on what to build next and how to make it feel ten times better than what every incumbent ships.
This is an early-stage role with real ownership. If you want to ship product that millions of candidates will use within a year, read on.
What you will own
- Own the workzil.com candidate-facing surface
- Build the Chrome extension UI surfaces (1-click apply, autofill overlays, fit-score panel)
- Partner on the conversational JD agent (chat + voice)
- Set up the testing + observability discipline for everything candidate-side
Who you are
- 5+ years building production React (or similar)
- Deep TypeScript fluency
- Strong eye for design — you can take a Figma sketch from "fine" to "delightful"
- Comfort working close to the metal: server components, streaming, edge perf
- You ship fast, write code that other people can read, and reach for the simplest thing that works
