The Irish carrier told staff it wants to cut up to 500 jobs — 70 pilots, 140 cabin crew and 290 head-office posts — from a 6,500 workforce, and trim capacity 6% by axing Dublin routes to Denver, Minneapolis, Las Vegas and Split. Higher fuel and supplier costs and tougher transatlantic competition have squeezed margins to ~10%, below the 12–15% targets set by parent IAG. Unions SIPTU, Fórsa and Ialpa reacted with shock and vowed to oppose compulsory redundancies, noting the airline still made €282M profit in 2025.
