The legal, tax and regulatory information giant told technology staff it would cut up to 500 engineering roles — about 1.8% of its 27,100 global staff and ~5.2% of its 9,400-strong operations-and-technology unit — as it deepens AI across its products. It is a swap, not a retreat: the company plans to hire more than 250 net-new, mostly senior 'AI-native' engineers over two years. The cuts came despite 10% quarterly revenue growth, making it another profitable-company reduction pinned on changing skill needs.
