Intel to Cut Core Workforce by 15%, Around 24,000 Jobs, Under New CEO

Intel said it would reduce its core workforce by about 15% — roughly 24,000 roles — bringing core headcount to around 75,000 by the end of 2025 under CEO Lip-Bu Tan, who took over in March. The chipmaker, which expects about $1.9 billion in restructuring charges, is flattening management layers and pulling back on projects as it battles losses and fierce AI-chip competition from Nvidia and AMD. The reductions come on top of the 15,000 cuts Intel announced in 2024.

Warner Bros. Discovery Lays Off Nearly 1,000 in Cost-Cutting Round

Warner Bros. Discovery laid off nearly 1,000 employees across finance, business affairs, and production, with the finance department hit hardest and fewer than 10 roles cut at its Max streaming service. The reductions came as CEO David Zaslav's company pursued cost cuts while preparing to split into two publicly traded companies — Warner Bros. and Discovery Global. A separate wave later trimmed about 10% of the Motion Picture Group.
