Oracle to Add ~8,000 Jobs Across Four States for AI Data Centers
Oracle said in a March 9 blog post that it expects to hire nearly 8,000 permanent workers across Michigan, New Mexico, Texas, and Wisconsin as its AI data-center network -- much of it tied to the Stargate buildout -- becomes operational.
Why Is the Company Hiring?
Bringing online a wave of AI data centers, including Stargate-linked capacity
Demand for data-center technicians, logistics, and operations staff
Multi-state campus build-outs reaching the staffing phase
Long-term contracts (including OpenAI) requiring reliable operational headcount
Impact Analysis
On top of tens of thousands of construction jobs, the ~8,000 permanent roles seed local training pipelines in four states. The hiring is a centerpiece of the "jobs moving to AI infrastructure" narrative running opposite 2026's corporate layoffs.
