1. General Policy
Workzil subscriptions are billed in advance for each billing period (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual). When you cancel a subscription, it remains active through the end of the period you have already paid for, and is not renewed for any subsequent period.
We do not issue prorated refunds for unused time after cancellation, except where required by law (see "EU Consumer 14-Day Cooling-Off" below) or in the exceptional cases described in this policy.
One-time credit packs are non-refundable once the credits have been added to your balance, except within the 24-hour purchase window described in Section 4.
2. EU Consumer 14-Day Cooling-Off
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you have a statutory right under Directive 2011/83/EU (the Consumer Rights Directive) to withdraw from a distance-sold subscription contract within 14 calendar days from the date of purchase. This right does not apply to business-to-business (B2B) purchases or to employer-tier subscriptions.
Within the 14-day window, you may request a full refund of your most recent subscription invoice via Section 5: How to Request a Refund. We will issue the refund to your original payment method within 14 days of receiving your request and cancel your subscription immediately.
The 14-day window starts the day the subscription contract is concluded (the date of your first successful payment). After the window expires, the general policy in Section 1 applies.
3. What Happens if I Cancel Mid-Period?
You can cancel a Workzil subscription at any time from your billing settings. When you cancel:
- Your subscription remains active until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Your account is not charged again at the next renewal date.
- We do not issue prorated refunds for unused time after cancellation, except for EU consumers within the 14-day cooling-off window (Section 2).
You retain access to all paid features through the end of the paid period. After that date, your account reverts to the Free tier and your data is retained according to our Privacy Policy.
4. Credit Pack Refunds
One-time credit packs are refundable within 24 hours of purchase, provided that the credits have not yet been spent. To request a refund, contact us within the 24-hour window via Section 5 and include your transaction reference. We will revoke the corresponding number of credits from your balance and refund the purchase price.
If credits have been partially spent within the 24-hour window, we will refund only the value of the unspent credits.
After the 24-hour window, credit packs are non-refundable.
5. How to Request a Refund
Refund requests are handled through our billing system:
- EU 14-day cooling-off: Submit a refund request via
POST /api/billing/refund-requestfrom your account, or email billing@workzil.com. Eligible requests are issued automatically. - All other requests (outside the cooling-off window, exceptional circumstances): email billing@workzil.com with your transaction reference and reason. Requests are reviewed by our billing team within 5 business days.
Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Bank processing times vary (typically 5–10 business days for cards, longer for SEPA debit).
6. Chargebacks and Disputes
Filing a chargeback with your bank or card issuer without first contacting us prevents us from resolving the issue and may result in your account being suspended pending dispute resolution. Please reach out to billing@workzil.com first — most billing concerns can be resolved within one business day.
Where a dispute is filed, your subscription will be frozen (status: disputed) and your credit balance temporarily withheld until the dispute is resolved by your payment provider.
