Methodology
- Salary ranges reflect US market data for June 2026, derived from public posting aggregates plus benchmark surveys (Levels.fyi for tech, BLS OEWS for non-tech, role-specific industry sources for healthcare and trades).
- Junior = ~0-2 years experience; Mid = ~3-5 years; Senior = ~6-12 years. Senior bands for engineering and management roles extend higher at FAANG and AI labs.
- Total compensation (including equity and bonus) typically exceeds base salary by 20-50% at well-funded tech employers and 5-15% elsewhere. Ranges shown are base / cash-equivalent.
- Geographic adjustment: ranges represent US national mid-market. Major-metro and FAANG-tier roles trend 10-25% higher; secondary-metro and remote-anywhere roles trend 0-15% lower.
- Refreshes: dataset is reviewed quarterly. Major changes (large model releases, market shifts) trigger out-of-cycle updates.
